estimados colegas , me gustaria discutir con alguien el tema siguiente:
-Cual es el criterio que utiliza ETABS para decir que la cuantia necesaria para el muro diseñado es la que muestra en el reporte y es la que satisface las solicitaciones Pu-Mu mostradas en el mismo reporte??

esto aplicado a un edificio al cual se le realizo un analisis dinamico con ingreso de espectro y combinaciones de carga segun norma chilena.
Espero este tema corresponda a este foro. Espero sus comentarios, colegas

creo que el programa se da cuantias de fierro uniformemente distribuidas a lo largo de este y calcula el diagrama P-M y despues verifica

Segun tengo entendido el programa diferencia entre 3 tipos de armado, estas son

1) armadura uniformemente distribuida
2) armadura concetrada en bordes
3) armdadura predefinida

Si se elige la opcion 1 o 2, le puedes pedir al programa que te diseñe el muro, en ese caso el programa calcula la cuantía minima cuyo diagrama de interaccion P-M2-M3 sea suficiente para resistir las cargas de cada combinación de diseño. Tambien se puede proponer una cuantia para el caso 1 y el programa chequea si esa cuantia es suficiente mediante el diagrama de interaccion.

Si se elige la opción 3, uno mismo coloca la armadura en la seccion con el section designer (Define Pier Section For Checking) y el programa calcula el diagrama de interacción tridimensional y chequea si este es suficiente para resistir las cargas de cada combinacion de diseño.

COMENTARIOS.-
1.- En la primera y la tercera y la sugunda, que se les
olvido, el programa permite que el usuario proponga
el armado y el ETABS avisa si esta (OK) ó que lastima ¡¡FAILLLLL¡¡

2.-La primera es la mas modesta de las tres opciones:
es para un análisis plano (M2 o el M3, PERO NO AMBOS).

3.- La tercera es la mas rica .... uummmmm ..., te permite utilizar
el modulo para el arreglo del armado, puedes
utilizar varillas del diametro que quieras y ubicarlas
donde quieras.

Final:
El software viene con mas 20 o 3.... manuales, en los cuales
se encuentra(n) lo(s) criterio(s) ó los codigos que útiliza el ETABS (ACI, UBC =creo que ahora al UBC le dicen el IBC=, EUROPEOS, etc.,).

Amigo MURO : Te recomiendo que esa pregunta la formules al soporte técnico de CSI, e invitarte a colocar la respuesta en el foro . . . seria interesante conocer los comentarios de la gente de CSI, no crees ?

Pongámolos a trabajar, que para eso se les paga la respectiva cuota de mantenimiento y soporte anual !!

• Can more than one object be selected at a time?
Sure – you may simultaneously select every object in the model, if so desired. Please note that after selecting, in the bottom left corner of the screen you can see the number of points, lines, areas, and edges selected.

This is a result of averaging the contour displays. If you go to Display > Show Slab Forces and checkbox ‘None’ under Contour Averaging, your display will show these peak values.

• Can ETABS perform composite beam design?
Sure – simply go to the Options > Preferences > Composite Beam Design command to specify the code and design parameters.

Definitivamente tienes toda la razón . . . creo que en E.U. existen manuales de SAP2000, ETABS y SAFE for Dummies.

Aunque insisto que se les debiera enviar la pregunta a estos señores, y como ellos son los que elaboran los algoritmos pues a ver qué contestan y colocar las respuestas aquí en el foro, incluyendo el tiempo que tardan en contestar.

Recuerden que este foro es prácticamente una extensión de CSI, y seria interesante ver las respuestas de estos señores al respecto.

En el Manual de diseño para Muros de Concreto
del Etabs, se tiene un manual muy completo y estan los codigos
o críterios que utiliza el Programa.

Por ultimo el Etabs no tiene un modulo para Muros
de Mamposteria, por lo cual el uso del programa
para estos Muros es por cuenta del Usuario.

Porque no planteas tus dudas al Ing. E. Rodriguez?
El está impartiendo un curso de este tema.
